#25 - A szuhakállói izraelita temető (Jewish cemetery in Szuhakálló)

Hosszú szünet után újra lesz időm, hogy a bloggal érdemben is foglalkozzak. Igyekszem kicsit arculatot is változtatni. Szeretnék a blognak új lényeget adni, és ismeretterjesztő, utazó naplóvá varázsolni. Remélem sikerülni fog. :)

Az első, "bemelegítő" bejegyzéshez nem mentem túl messzire kis lakhelyemtől, Múcsonytól. Az utam Szuhakállóba vezetett, ami olyan közel van, hogy szinte egy falut jelent Múcsonnyal. 1969-ben ráadásul múcsonyi igazgatás alá is került a település, és önállóságát csak 1991-ben kapta vissza. Egy kellemes kis délutáni sétának indult a történet, egy csípős februári napon.

After a long break, finally I have time again to deal with my blog. I would like to change the image of my little web diary. I want to give my blog a new essence and I hope it will get a 'travel diary' type appierance. I hope it will succeed. :)

To write the first, warm-up blog entry I didn't have to go far from Múcsony, where I live. My jurney took me to Szuhakálló. Szuhakálló is so colse to our village that it almost means one community with Múcsony. In 1969 Szuhakálló was under a common governance with Múcsony and regaind it independence only in 1991. My story began as a pleasant afternoon walk on a chilly day on February.

A falu végén, az utolsó ház után egy dombon pedig igen rejtélyes temetőre találunk. Ez egy régi izraelita temetkező hely, amit már régóta nem használnak. Az elhagyatott fejfák körül a fű és egyéb gyomnövények teljesen visszavették az uralmat. Több kőtábla leborult, eltöredezett és az egykori héber írással felvésett szövegek már szinte olvashatatlanok. Néhány követ egyszerűen csak magába nyelt a föld, és csak a csúcsa látszik ki a fejfának, jelezve, hogy itt nyugszik valaki.

At the end of the village after the last house there is a small hill. On this small hill we found a very mysteriuos burial place. This graveyard is an old Jewish cemetery which has long been unused. Around the abandoned headstones the grass and other weeds were taken back to the reign. Several of the headstones fell down, shatterd and the Hebrew engraved writings are almost unreadable now. Some of the stones was simply absorbed by the ground and the only visible part of them is the top.

Sajnos a temetőről semmilyen értékelhető információt nem találtam. Viszont kutatásaim során az internetről innen-onnan összecsipegetett információkból pár dolgot megtudtam a szuhakállói és környékbeli zsidóságról. A legtöbb információt arról találtam, hogy a második világháború során, 1944. májusában deportálták a zsidó lakosságot az edelényi és rudabányai táborokba. Találtam egyetlen egy nevet, egy munkaszolgálatosokat összegyűjtő honlapon. Sajnos ennél előrébb nem jutottam a kutatásban, de szeretném majd ezt a történetet alaposabban kifejteni, hiszen a temetőt nem jegyzi még a magyarországi izraelita temetőket "katalogizáló" weboldal sem (ahol pedig még olyan múcsonyi temető is fel van jegyezve, és van róla kép, amelyik egy kertes ház hátsó udvarában van).

Unfortunatelly I didn't find any valuable information about the cemetery, however I found some information about the Hebrew community of Szuhakálló and the neighbour villages. The most of these information about that Jewish people was deported to the getto in Edelény and Rudabánya during the WW2 (in May 1944.). I also found the name of one person - who lived in Szuhakálló - on a website which collect the names of the forced laborers. I did not get ahead in research, but I want this story to explain more thoroughly. I didn't find this cemetery even on an official website which record most of the Jewish cemeteries in Hungary (however a Hebrew graveyard in the backyard of a house is on record at this web-catalog ).
